See job description below

The Advisory Services Group provides counsel to senior executives in banks, insurance companies, mortgage companies and other financial institutions on their most difficult - and interesting - capital\market issues. Our practice centers on financial strategy and risk management. The advisory practice is rooted in BlackRock’s culture of objective, fiduciary problem-solving for clients, and is a strategic priority for the firm.

Role Description

BlackRock’s advisory practice is part of BlackRock Solutions, the non asset management arm of BlackRock. We work with top financial institutions on managing their capital markets and balance sheet exposures, as well as strategy for capital markets-oriented businesses. We therefore lie somewhere in between McKinsey and Goldman – the style of our work is closer to a consultancy, but the substance overlaps with an investment bank. Our clients are typically the heads of businesses, boards, or senior balance sheet decision-makers in global institutions. We advise on financial strategy, risk management, hedge design and execution, and capital markets-driven business strategies.

Responsibilities

An advisory leader is charged with:

  • Developing new clients and deepening the firm’s existing relationships.

  • Overseeing projects and delivering excellent advice to our clients; and growing and mentoring the team.

  • Skills & Qualifications

  • Understand theoretical and practical aspects of finance, risk, and capital markets;
  • BA/BS or Equivalent, Masters Degree Preferred.
  • Speak the language of financial institutions (banks, insurance companies, etc.);
  • Excel in solving financial and business problems;
  • Enjoy counseling clients, and possess CEO – level presentation skills; and
  • Lead with a collegial style as a partner with his or her colleagues.
