The Department:
The GPS Business Operations Group is responsible for Risk and Compliance as the first line of defence (within the business unit). The team partners with other units to identify and mitigate operational risks including those relating to compliance. Working closely with Corporate Risk Management and Global AML to understand compliance requirements, design and deploy process solutions, and institute appropriate controls. The successful candidate will work with business units and Corporate Audit to identify issues and institute management process to drive resolution.
Your main responsibilities as Operational Risk Manager will involve:
* Supporting the rollout of compliance-related processes as policy changes occur * Contributing to internal audits, regulatory exams, and driving the closure of any issues identified as a result of those activities * Establishing operational controls and independently testing to ensure that processes are functioning as expected * Helping to identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies that will increase global consistency and decrease unnecessary efforts by lines of business * Providing approval authority for certain types of risk related requests
Your skills and qualifications as Operational Risk Manager will ideally include:
* Significant relevant experience gained within a comparable organisation/environment * High degree of familiarity with Global Product Services - GPS (Treasury) and Global Commercial Bank - GCB customer offerings * Knowledge of anti-money laundering and compliance issues effecting GPS and GCB, with AML certification beneficial * Excellent communications, presentation and training skills * Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities * Demonstrated success overseeing multiple projects and driving these through to completion * A proven ability to translate strategic concepts into tactical action plans * Project management certification or experience would be an advantage * Experience in process design and deployment, Six Sigma or LEAN - desirable
