• This is a “one-off” opportunity to support a fund management team of 5 people, that are without a doubt (proven by years of sector dominance and the winning of numerous awards), one of the consistently best performing UK small / mid cap managers in the World

• This is fundamentally a “stock picking” role and will require you to be a highly entrepreneurial individual who can spot and unearth, and argue the case for, UK small / mid cap investment opportunities (£75m - £2 bn). The emphasis will be on “bottom-up” fundamental analysis with consideration being given to macroeconomic drivers etc

• You will be expected to analyse a breadth of sectors (some of which may be determined by you existing area of specialism) and be excited about the opportunity of being more of a “sector generalist” rather than a “specialist”

• You will be integral to both asset allocation and portfolio construction decisions as the firm prides itself on not havng a “house style”, therefore allowing ownership of key decisions to be made by the fund management teams

Your Profile:

• You must have a record of exceptional academic achievement

• A pass at a minimum of level 1 of CFA is highly desirable as it will demonstrate a strong theoretical knowledge of financial statement analysis

• It is essential that you have proven experience of analyzing small and mid cap stocks from either the buy-side or the sell-side AND a desire to develop your fundamental “stock-picking” skills within an entrepreneurial buy-side environment, where you will be expected to be proactive and able to work on your own initiative

• UK small / mid cap knowledge is preferable, although a candidate with broader Pan-European small /mid cap exposure will be considered

• The key requirement is an ability to think creatively, be motivated by the unrestrictive nature of this fund manager’s investment process and be able to develop and communicate well reasoned investment ideas
