JP Morgan World Wide Securities Services (WSS) is looking for a great hands-on development manager, to lead and build a team of talented programs that will be focused on rapid development of business critical tools. You will join a growing area of the firm and work directly with a business generating over $1.0 BN a year! Here is a chance to build a great team and work directly with some great business partners. The primary mission of this team is to use raid development techniques and tools to quickly provide business solutions. Usually this means development in tools such as Excel, MS SQL, Access but we also expect the team to make good decisions around when to use a lightweight tool e.g. Excel or when to use a more formal toolset e.g. .NET. An exciting aspect of this team, is that the developers can leverage and gain expertise on a wide variety of technologies. Maybe we should be exploring other tools like Python to help us deliver quality software more quickly; as the team lead you will work with senior management to help set a technical direction. Of course the team lead will be responsible for the analysis, development, testing, and QA support of assigned tools in a rapid delivery focused environment. And, you will be responsible for ensuring that your deliverables are of high-quality, fully functional, readable, maintainable, and that they fulfill the pre-defined business requirements.
Responsibilities include:Build a great team of developers Hands on, management with a relentless focus on execution and control. Helping create a framework to bring together other existing critical UDTs (User Defined Tools) and allow for better management and control of these tools. Deliver on time, on budget Development of the team. Our team leads are measured on how well they develop their staff.
Qualifications Required: A Technology Lead / Manager with demonstrably excellent project & team management skills Desire to work in an exciting business focused environment where he/she can influence the future success of the group Database querying skills are critical to the success of this project. Somebody who is delivery-focused with a proven track record Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Access Technology. Excellent written and verbal communication; Good interpersonal skills Solid technical background - either from Development or Systems Analysis Experience and skills in one or more of the following technologies: Java, Oracle, Websphere, .NET A willingness to travel should a project require this Desired Skills: Experience managing out-sourced/vendor based developments, or a geographically dispersed project team Working knowledge of the Capability Maturity Model Integrated, preferably familiar with Level 2/3. Experience of any of the following: Securities Lending, Collateral Management, Clearance
