Job Purpose:

Project Managers are responsible for participating in high profile consulting projects as well as and leading consulting projects across GTS EMEA for both internal and external clients. Using well-defined methodologies such as Pinnacle Business Process Improvement, Current State & Future State Process Mapping, Data & Root Cause Analysis & Work Effort Analysis, the group analyses cross-functional end-to-end processes as well as specific work functions to identify opportunities to for continuous process improvement to increase overall client satisfaction. The group employs best practices in Business Process Reengineering and proposes recommendations to enhance productivity, quality and cost effectiveness. Projects are typically performed in TTS (Cash Management, Trade) and SFS Operations, Client Delivery (Client Services & Implementations), GTS Front Office businesses as well as with select external GTS clients.

The GTS Consulting group is part of the GTS Consulting & PMO group within the Client Delivery Organisation. It is located in London. The group also interacts on a regular basis with the group's counterparts based in New York and Singapore to ensure that consistency and best practices are applied on a global basis.

This position requires approximately up to 50% travel time to GTS locations primarily in EMEA and potentially in North America and Asia Pacific, however, travel time can vary and can be cyclical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple complex internal & external client engagements
  • Drive internal improvements for the GTS business areas & clients as well as the team and other regional teams
  • Market and build project pipeline
  • Oversee the development of scopes, budgets, timeline documents
  • Determine the types of analysis and data required to support the review and that will yield the most significant results
  • Initiate project, manage day-to-day activities, wrap up initiative, obtain client feedback and testimonials, and provide management with an assessment of project success
  • Create partnerships with client management, leveraging the consultant's expertise and business experience
  • Monitor, update and communicate project timelines and milestones; obtain client's senior management feedback/ ensure that the client's work is not adversely impacted by the project; and understand potential speed bumps and client's true concerns/needs
  • Ensure that the project team adheres to T&E policies & project does not go over budget
  • Work with management and other analysts on the team to ensure that overall project goals are met
  • Train Consultants (Business and Senior Business Analysts) on consulting and project management techniques

    Knowledge/Experience:

  • Proven experience in management or business management consulting with Banking and Financial Institutions
  • Proven experience of managing projects and teams successfully and demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to work within all levels of the organization both internally & externally
  • Broad understanding of GTS products
  • Skills:

  • Project management skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills mandatory
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to present information
  • Ability to construct logical reasoning with clients who may be defensive and resistant to change
  • Ability to gather and assimilate information in a short period of time

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or MBA (Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience)
  • Proven excellence in 3 previous assignments
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, PMI and/or process reengineering a plus
  • Competencies

  • Ability to look at the overall picture as well as the detail
  • History of success working in a team environment
  • Flexibility to handle & plan multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written & facilitation communication skills
