We are looking for an assistant manager or manager with experience of regulation and compliance within the Financial Services Industry to work in our Bristol office.
Financial Services Advisory
 
The FS Advisory Group is a diverse team that provides high quality, innovative advice and solutions to financial services firms who face regulatory and risk issues.  FS Advisory has the expertise to assist clients on issues ranging from the specific application of the compliance rules imposed on the financial services industry by the FSA through to predicting and modelling the impacts of future regulatory requirements.  It has built up an excellent reputation in how to use and apply best practice governance and regulations to our clients’ advantage, driving value from the ever increasing and complex regulatory agenda .
 
Regulatory Consulting
Regulatory consulting provides high quality consulting advice to the financial sector, helping clients to anticipate and understand regulatory and policy change. We help clients to protect their reputation by avoiding costly reputational damage.  Where it is too late to prevent failure, we investigate the problem, help clients deal with the after effects and help to establish guards against re-occurrence.  
We provide services such as:
  • Strategic reviews of organisations, their plans and their structures
  • Regulatory reviews to help firms benchmark against current and emerging regulation and their competitors;
  • Presentations to boards of directors on matters such as corporate and personal risk, impact analysis of regulatory change on their business and innovative solutions to manage change;
  • Health Checks on compliance arrangements; and
  • Projects to investigate problems propose solutions and implement change.
We partner with clients in both a business advisory and consulting capacity and based on unprecedented demands for our services, we are looking to recruit a select number of individuals at all levels.
 
  • Degree and / or relevant professional qualification and/or significant relevant consulting or industry expertise
  • Experience in Financial Services business environment of financial services industry, regulation, and operating practices.Financial industry experience across any of the following:
o        Retail Banking
o        Wholesale/Investment Banking
o        Insurance (General or Life and Pensions)
  • Proven track record in the understanding and implementation of regulation within the industry.
  • Detailed technical knowledge required in any of the following areas of regulation/compliance;
    • Financial Crime/Anti-money laundering
    • Conduct of Business
    • Treating Customers Fairly
    • Capital Requirements Directive
    • Exchange Regulation
    • FSA Authorisation
  • Understanding of latest regulatory developments and key current issues facing regulated firms.
  • Responsibilities will include digesting the impact of the regulation on clients, delivering functional health check assessments, and providing implementation and technical support services where remediation is required. Successful candidates will be required to work across several work streams simultaneously and manage senior stakeholder expectations.
  • Applicants will also be expected to augment the firms thought leadership by identifying opportunities as the regulatory landscape develops.

  • Ability to identify sales opportunities and progress in conjunction with other team members.
  • Change/Project management in financial services institutions
  • The ability to work under own initiative and in many different and challenging environments.
  • Specific Internal Audit or Compliance experience
  • Strong team working skills
  • Strong presentation, business writing and professional standards
