Financial Control: •Team of 4 •Monthly consolidated results to be reported to the parent company in the USA. •Regular revised estimate reporting and budget reporting to the Group. •Close liaison with the Management Reporting team in the preparation of consolidated results. •The preparation of the Annual Financial Statements for the International Consolidated group and the principal operating entity •Provision of consolidated results and analysis for other external reporting such as Credit Ratings. •Accounting policy framework and compliance. •Accounting sign-off for new products and business acquisition support.
Given the strong growth which the organisation is experiencing the role will require significant input in planned process and systems developments and provide a provide opportunity to add value to these processes.
•Review of General ledger implementation. •Review of consolidation process. •Review of the inter-company process. •Be an important player in the provision of input into MIS development.
Regulatory Control: •Day to day supervision of a team of 3 including objective setting and performance monitoring •Ensure prudential compliance versus regulatory limits and reporting deadlines for FSA •Ensure all internal reporting SLAs are met •Final review of all reports/ returns (produced by the team), including identification of internal MIS reporting enhancements: •Provision of technical advice, both internally within the department as well as to Front Office •Need someone closer to the detail and have better knowledge of the detail to be able to get to the heart of the matter quicker than at present
Management reporting: •Team of 4 •Need to tighten up the whole MI process (both the management reporting and reporting to the ledger) – they have trouble keeping the two in sync. •Have complex comp and bonus process which needs to be addressed •Ability to overhaul the department and set up process and procedures for clean and reliable information. •One of the key challenges – Overhaul of local management reporting systems and enhancement of reporting procedures and processes •Key responsibilities o Core Reports o Quarterly CIB Intl Results Presentations o Monthly Exco packs o Monthly Capital Committee Packs o Monthly Management Reports for CIB Intl o Ad-hoc Management Reports on a CIB Intl basis
Our client is looking for a finance and Regulatory expert who has practical understanding of GAAP / IFRS. This person will be the daily manager for the CFO and will be his number 2 and direct successor going forwards. At present the CFO is getting constrained by the detail so this person will help him look at the strategy of the department and include this person longer term objectives.
Skills: •Financial Services / banking experience •ACA qualified (or equivalent). •10-15 years PQE •Demonstrate technical competence, creativity and a strong analytical approach to problem solving. •Able to prioritise workload and operate under pressure, delivering high quality information at short notice without compromising accuracy •Attention to detail. •Confidence around senior management and presenting ideas and opinions for discussion. •Capable of building successful relationships with client groups, including Group Finance , finance functions in the regions and other support/business areas.
