This is a direct sales, quota carrying position with the responsibility for selling PORTIA and PORTIA Perform. Due to the nature of the product the role requires extensive product and domain knowledge. - Generate demand to grow and maximise sales revenue within defined sales territory, in line with agreed revenue targets
- Prospect assigned markets through business development and networking initiatives including use of existing Thomson relationships, third party contacts, industry events, and 'warm' calling
- Develop and communicate effective business and action plans to address opportunities
- Generate and maintain a consistent and accurate sales forecast
- Coordinate and work closely with the appropriate sales consultants and support resources to successfully deliver Thomson Reuters solutions to clients
- Generate and follow up on proposals/offers to prospects
- Effectively position and negotiate commercial terms
- Proactively develop marketplace awareness of Thomson solutions within the assigned territories, with the goal of achieving market leadership
- Conduct needs/solutions analysis
- Develop and maintain a database of potential and existing opportunities
- The successful candidate will develop and grow new businesses in existing and emerging markets by effectively positioning the product and establishing high-level relationships with key decision makers and influencers at both senior executive and working levels.
Expertise and qualifications: - Proven track record of achieving and exceeding financial targets
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to be a self starter and the ability to drive the sales process within assigned markets
- Experience in direct selling specialized products/solutions
- In depth understanding of buy-side operations, from trade entry through to middle and back office functions
- Able to comfortably communicate at both senior executive and working levels
- Able to demonstrate industry awareness and develop appropriate solution offerings
- Able to demonstrate effective time management and task prioritisation when under pressure
- Able to travel extensively to meet demands of sales territory
- Working knowledge of PORTIA and/or other Portfolio Management Systems is preferred
- European linguistic skills would be an advantage
