Key Roles: Prepare all consolidated financial statements and ensure they are finalized and submitted in a timely manner and in adherence with set standards Prepare and issue the Firm's quarterly and annual reports (liaising closely with external auditors) & financial publications Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement. Ensure the accurate booking of all significant transactions, accruals provisions, prepayment and other entries for periodic and annual account closing. Monitor/review all expenses at group-wide level. Ensure adherence to expense authorities and guidelines and proper posting to G/L Maintain the Firm's GL structure and perform accounts reconciliation 4Maintain the Firm's fixed assets register & perform fixed assets accounting Control key receivables, payables and suspense accounts Develop and amend the chart of accounts to accommodate the Firm's changing requirements Monitor/review expenses budget and ensure adequate approvals are granted for large/unbudgeted transactions (in close liaison with Budgeting and MIS) Oversee the nostro and inter-branch reconciliation process and ensure effective control over all nostro and inter-branch accounts. Participate in major system upgrades from the accounts perspective Support CFO on matters such as accounting policies, budgets and financial statements. Job Requirements: Education: Graduate degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognized university. ACA/CPA a must. Experience: 15 - 20 years in Finance/ Accounting with a leading bank or investment company of which at least 5 years in a similar position. Exposure to the MENA region is a plus Competencies: –Fluent in English & Arabic – Excellent analytical and modeling skills – Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written communication skills) –Proven ability to deliver major projects against tight timelines –Thorough understanding of accounting & financial standards & principles –Detail oriented –Advanced knowledge of international accounting standards, fiscal laws and regulations
